CommunicAsia2010 and BroadcastAsia2010
CommunicAsia2010 and BroadcastAsia2010 are scheduled to take place at Singapore Expo Centre from June 15 – 18, 2010. This is a leading global commercial event in Asia on information and communication technology (ICT). CommunicAsia2010 and BroadcastAsia2010 will showcase a wide range of technologies.
The organisers will expand the showcasing space of CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia to 58,000 square metres. The exhibition will introduce the latest technological innovations developed by 2,000 multinational corporations and small and medium enterprises. Thirty four groups of international pavilions reflect the efforts of governments and industry associations to increase their presence in the Asian region.
Spotlights at CommunicAsia2010
CommunicAsia2010 Expo will have booths for new market developers, including the most advanced mobile developers, independent software developers and WIP programmes. CommunicAsia2010 is also showcasing the new technology – FFTx, mobile games and sustained ICT.
The CommunicAsisa2010 Summit will include a conference on value added services for mobile (VAS), cloud computing, marketing through social networks, green ICT and a forum on “Communication World & New Technologyâ€. This program is designed to provide in-depth conversations about the challenges, business models and investment opportunities in the ICT world.
EnterpriseIT2010, incorporated with CommunicAsia2010, will explore technological issues and display the most innovative solutions for the development of enterprises. Exhibitors will present solutions in the realms of network security services and converged device management.
Spotlights at BroadcastAsia2010
The highlight of BroadcastAsia2010 will be the forum on data collecting and transmitting platforms. Sports programmes, movies and games are expected to be more popular and the FIFA World Cup release in June is definitely a catalyst for the strong increase in growth of content. Asia, home to many world-leading manufacturers of audiovisual equipment like Sony and Panasonic, is emerging as the leader of 3D technology.
Digital billboard exhibitors will display advanced technologies such as touch screen monitors and professional screen applications in Asia Pacific. A new feature at this BroadcastAsia International Conference is the seminar on creative content production (CCT). The workshop will explore the latest trends and methods of cost savings.
More than 1,000 professional visitors from Vietnam attended CommunicAsia2009 and BroadcastAsia2009, demonstrating the importance of this event for ICT businesses in Vietnam.
Despite numerous challenges in 2009, the ICT sector of Vietnam still made remarkable growth. The number of landline and mobile subscribers in the country exceeded 130 million by the end of 2009, up 58 percent from some 82 million subscribers signed up in 2008. Mobile subscribers accounted for more than 85 percent of total phone users, while fixed lines took up 15 percent.
3G-powered mobile internet services are becoming more popular in Vietnam and the new technology is playing an increasingly important role in the infrastructure and subscriber development of domestic service suppliers. In 2009, the number of internet users exceeded 22 million, or over 25 percent of the population, while the number of broadband internet subscribers reached 2.89 million, or about 3 percent of the population.
