Coffee prices shoot up
The price of coffee has risen sharply to US$2,600/tonne in London, according to the Vietnam Association of Coffee and Cacao (Vicofa).
It is predicted that coffee prices would be higher until the harvest of the coffee crop.
According to Vifoca, to ensure an adequate supply to both domestic and foreign markets, the coffee growing area must reach 500,000 hectares to yield 1-1.2 million tonnes per year.
However, the coffee sector is running short of capital. – VOV
