Coffee price hits record vnd50 million per tonne
Domestic coffee prices have seen successive increases in early May and it hit a record high of VND50 million per tonne on May 4.
This is the highest price ever in the Vietnamese coffee market, up VND 500,000 per tonne over the last record set on April 28.
Coffee prices in Central Highland provinces are now fluctuating between VND 49.8 – 50 million per tonne. In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces coffee was sold at VND 50 million per tonne, while in Gia Lai and Lam Dong, it sold for VND 49.9 and 49.8 million per tonne respectively.
The spike in domestic coffee prices was attributed to the rise on the world market. Yesterday in London, the price of robusta coffee for July delivery increased US$ 56 (2%) to US$2,611 per tonne. – VCCI
