Cocoa plantation area estimated at 60,000ha by 2015
Vietnam Cocoa Development Commission under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has allowed the lower-authority agencies to build the cocoa plantation project in the whole country.
Accordingly, the country’s cocoa area will reach 60,000 hectares by 2015 with 108,000 tonnes of dry cocoa.
Cocoa bean export is expected to be 86,000 tonnes a year from 2015, earning $100-120 million/year.
