Co Chien Bridge project costs 4.826tr dong

Ministry of Transport has submitted the Document No 4266/GTVT-KHDT to prime minister for approval about investment mechanism for construction on Co Chien Bridge on National Highway No 60 connecting two provinces of Tra Vinh and Ben Tre.

Accordingly, Ministry of Transport (asked for prime minister’s approval for carrying out the construction works under the building-operating-transferring (BOT) method and assigning Rach Mieu Bridge BOT Co Ltd, established by Civil Engineering Constrution Corp No 1, 5 and 6, and some domestic and foreign enterprises as the main investors.

MoT suggested using state budget for construction works on the access roads with estimated cost of 1.79 trillion dong. The provincial authorities of Ben Tre and Tra Vinh will take responsibility for ground clearance charges of about 410 billion dong while the investors to be in charge of construction on the main bridge with investment capital of 1.7 trillion dong.

The project includes Co Chien Bridge and two access roads with total length of 15.7 kilometres, in which Co Chien Bridge is 1.6 kilometres long, with total investment capital of 4.826 trillion dong. The first phase of the project costs 3.9 trillion dong. After completion, Co Chien Bridge will help shorten the distance from HCM City to Tra Vinh and Soc Trang by 70 kilometres.
