City uses bulk of electricity
The Viet Nam Electricity Group (EVN) has sent a document to the Electricity Regulatory Authority detailing distribution of power to its agents in cities and provinces.
HCM City tops the list of localities with the allocation of 43.5 million kWh a day, followed by Ha Noi with 27 million kWh and Dong Nai with 18 million kWh.
The Central Power Corporation will get 16 million kWh a day, while the Da Nang Power Company will get 3.6 million kWh.
According to EVN, the power allocated for Ha Noi is higher than its consumption demand and that electricity sales in other localities are exceeding their allocated amounts.
The Southern Power Corporation’s electricity sales now exceed its allocation by 1.2 per cent; the Central Power Corporation, also 1.2 per cent and the Da Nang Power Company, by 0.25 per cent.
If power companies sell power according to their allocated amounts, there should be more power cuts in their respective areas, EVN said.
