China Remains Vietnam Top Supplier of Machines, Equipment in Jan-May
China remained Vietnam’s biggest supplier of machinery, equipment and spare parts worth US$1.66 billion in the first five months of this year, rising 13.81% on-year and accounting for 33.2% of the latter’s total sum.
Japan came the second with US$936.49 million, up 7.94% on-year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website late Thursday.
South Korea, Taiwan and the U.S. followed with respective figures of US$330.09 million, up 9.01%, US$298.83 million, up 42.79%, and US$283.12 million, up 14.84%.
New Zealand reported the highest on-year export growth of these products to Vietnam at 1,672.03% to US$10.36 million in the five-month period.
Vietnam spent US$5 billion on importing machinery, equipment and spare parts, up 14% from a year earlier between January and May.
