Cement sector needs to be restructured

Ministry of Construction has carried out restructuring of Vietnam’s cement industry up to 2015 with orientation to 2025. It was expected that the afore-mentioned drafted plan would be finished and submitted to the government for approval in Q4 of 2010.

Within the period from now up to 2015, the ministry will have to set up the implementation progress of the key cement projects that are supposed to be put into operation each year in order to match with the supplies and demands in the domestic markets; and to re-plan the development regions with unsuitable cement projects.

At present, Vietnam’s cement industry has to face with over-supplying crisis because in 2010, the cement supplies surpassed the demands in the context when there is much difficulty in exporting cement. – Tuoitre
