Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway construction cost to be raised by 1.282tr dong

Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Co (VEC) submitted the proposal No 557/TTr-VEC to Ministry of Transport for adjustment of total investment capital for carrying out the first phase of Cau Gie-Ninh Binh highway project.

In details, the total investment capital for this project will be adjusted from 7.692 trillion dong to 8.974 trillion dong, up 1.282 trillion dong because there appeared some changes in policies and prices of construction materials. In order to ensure the financial effectiveness, VEC asked the Ministry of Transport to send document, suggesting the prime minister supplement additional 1.5 trillion dong from state budget.

The 56-kilometre Cau Gie-Ninh Binh highway project has been built under class A of highway standards, including four lanes. The project was conducted under BOO method (Building – Operating – Owning) with VEC as the main investor.

The construction was expected to be finished in Q1 of 2011.
