Can Tho promotes tourism in Hanoi

The culture, sports and tourism departments in Can Tho and Hanoi have organized the “Visiting Tay Do” roadshow to promote Can Tho’s tourism products to customers in Hanoi and elsewhere in the country’s north.

Nineteen tourist firms in Can Tho City worked with over 100 enterprises in the northern region during the two-day roadshow last week to seek cooperation in exploiting tourist products.

Can Tho vice chairman Vo Thanh Thong said the Mekong Delta received more travelers from the north due to the Can Tho Bridge and International Airport with direct flights between Hanoi and Can Tho. Tourism will become Can Tho’s key economic sector until 2020, Thong said.

Can Tho expects to attract 970,000 travelers with revenue estimated to amount to 750 billion dong this year. The city lured 880,000 tourists last year, of which 19 percent were foreigners. – Saigon Times
