Bidv insurer to list on southern bourse

Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) has recently approved in principle for Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (Bidv) Insurance Joint Stock Corp (BIC) to list 66 million shares on the southern bourse.

Accordingly, BIC will close the list of shareholders on April 15, 2011 to make depository for BIC-coded shares and finish necessary documents in line with the regulation and requirements of STC to be able to start trading from May, 2011.

The company expected to trade these shares from the end of May 2011.

BIC has completed the privatisation and changed its operation model to be a joint stock corporation since the end of October 2010. Currently, BIC is one of six non-life insurance companies with the leading market share on revenue from original insurance contract in Vietnam. BIC has a chartered capital of 660 billion dong with more than 520 staff in 21 member companies, 80 transaction offices nationwide and two subsidiaries abroad.
