Bangladesh to import 1m tone of rice from Vietnam each year

After the governmental agreement between the two countries, Vietnam and Bangladesh on rice trading operations, Vietnam will export one million tonne of rice of all types to Bangladesh, deputy minister of industry and trade, Nguyen Thanh Bien, said.

Bangladesh is increasingly interested in Vietnam’s rice. Through the government channel between the two countries, Vietnam has exported nearly one million tonne of rice under commercial contracts to Bangladesh in the last few months in 2010. Besides white rice, Vietnam has also increased production and supply of partially boiled rice. – Vietbiz24
