Bach Dang shipbuilder to build 4,500 cubic metre Ethylene LPG tanker

Bach Dang Shipbuilding Industry Corp on May 7 in the northern city of Hai Phong started building the fourth Ethylene LPG tanker with tonnage of 4,500 cubic metres for Italian Mediterranea Di Navigazione Co.

Truong Hoang Cao, Bach Dang shipbuilder’s deputy general director, said that LPG tanker is a very complicated ship demanding very high techniques.

Jure Feri, representative from Italian Mediterranea Di Navigazione Co said that Vietnam’s shipbuilding technology has been much improved for recent years. Therefore, his firm signed a contract with Bach Dang shipbuilder to build four LPG tankers.

Earlier, Bach Dang shipbuilder has built many types of ships with big tonnage such as 6,500 tonne sea-going cargo ship, 6,300 tonne ships for Japanese partners, Vietnam’s 11,500 tonne cargo ship going around the Earth and 13,500 tonne oil taker.
