Aviation market grows 20pct in Jan-Sep

Vietnam aviation market has continued high growth in Jan-Sep with the total passenger volume of over 15 million people, up 20 percent from the same period last year, according to Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.

In particular, Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Vietnam Air Service Co (Vasco) carried over 11 million people, a year-on-year rise of 24 percent.

These carriers also transported 340,000 tonnes of goods, growing 36 percent year-on-year. Of which, Vietnam’s carriers transported 135,000 tonnes of goods, or 37 percent increase y-o-y

Vietnam’s aviation market is forecasted to continuous growing faster in the last months this year because the Aviation Administration granted licences for many foreign airlines to increase the flights and open new flying routes to Vietnam in Q4 such as Turkish Airlines (Turkey), and LOT (Poland).

From November, Qatar Airways will open a new route to Hanoi and increase flights to HCM City. – TBKTSG
