Average 6-month interbank interest rate soars to 18%
The average interbank interest rate on July 19 for 6-month term surged to 18% p.a. , up 1.5% from the previous day, according to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s data on its website.
The average interbank interest rates for other terms also soared by between 0.2% p.a. and 0.58% p.a. compared to those on July 18, marking the highest interest rates in the interbank market since June this year.
Specifically, interest rates rose 0.31% p.a. to 12.69% p.a. for overnight term; up 0.58% to 14.58% p.a. for 3-month term; 0.2% to 13.39% p.a. for one-week and 0.3% to 14% p.a. for one-month term.
However, the average 2-week interest rate fell 0.34% to 13.18% p.a. while that for 12-month term remained unchanged at 13.5% p.a. – Stoxplus.com
