Australian-Vietnamese business association launched
The Overseas Vietnamese Business Association has been launched in Melbourne to provide assistance and consultancy for people doing business in Viet Nam.
The association had been recognised by the Vietnamese Government, chairman Tran Ba Phuc said. It had more than 200 members, plus 12 board members from such fields as accountancy, banking, maritime transport, import-export, investment, real estate and communications.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Hoang Vinh Thanh said there were 300,000 Vietnamese in Australia, 188,000 of whom were born in Viet Nam.
More than 24,000 Vietnamese students studied in Australia last year, he said. — VNS
