Asia’s beer production leads the world market
Kirin Research Institute of Drinking and Lifestyle reported that in 2009, Asian ranked the first in the world beer market in term of beer production.
The quantity of beer production reached 58.67 million kl, increasing by 5.5% compared with 2008. Meanwhile, European one was 55.15% million kl, declining by 5.1% and in the second place.
This is the first time Asia has led the world beer market since 1974.
Vietnam’s beer production increased up to 24.3% in 2009. India and China rose up 12.4% and 7%, respectively while Japan dropped by 2.2%.
Meanwhile, quantity of world beer production was 181 million kl, raised by 0.4% compared with 2008 that broke the record of 25 years.
However, the growth of beer slows down due to affects of the financial crisis.
