ASEAN puts priority on logistics

Vietnam’s Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang chaired a meeting on August 24 between ASEAN economic ministers and the business community about logistic services.

The economic ministers and businesses agreed that logistics should be one of the five services that needs to be prioritised during ASEAN integration.

The development of this kind of service is essential for establishing an ASEAN community, they said.

They also discussed issues related to formulation of policy, uniform technical standards, and a legal framework for developing this service.
