Apparel export reaches $3.8b in first five months
Pham Xuan Hong, vice chair of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) stated that after the first five months of this year, Vietnam’s total apparel export turnover was recorded at $3.8 billion, an increase of 17.1 percent against the same period of last year.
However, in order to realise the 2010 targeted export turnover of $10.5 billion, the apparel exporters have to reach monthly turnover of about $1 billion at average, Hong added.
The largest obstacle that the country’s garment industry has to face at present was shortage of qualified labourers.
