Apologetic Toyota offers free inspections

Toyota Motor Viet Nam (TMV) last Friday announced a free inspection programme for all Innova and Fortuner vehicles.

The announcement was accompanied by an apology to all customers for quality issues exposed by TMV employee Le Van Tach.

According to the company, the three quality issues related to cylinder pressure on rear wheel brake systems; tightening torque reduction on striker bolt No.8; and camber tightening before suspension adjustment.

The Free Inspection Programme will be carried out for all Innova and all Fortuner models that have been produced before December 23 2010. All these units will be inspected and repaired (if needed) free of charge.

The programme, beginning today, will be carried out at all Toyota Dealerships nationwide.

The number of vehicles that TMV will have to carry out checks on is calculated at 73,420.
