Amata builds commercial complex for industrial park
The developer of Amata industrial park in the southern province of Dong Nai on Friday started work on a commercial complex project inside the park to turn the estate there into an industrial city.
Amata (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. will develop the complex on over 19 hectares in Long Binh Ward in Bien Hoa City of the province. The sprawling complex will have a hotel, shopping malls, office building, recreation center, services center, a health clinic, condominiums and villas to serve more than 24,000 people working at the park, said Huynh Ngoc Phien, president of the company.
Phien said the development would help complete the infrastructure of Amata IP and satisfy higher requirements from investors and citizens of Bien Hoa City as well as contribute to the socio-economic development in the province.
This new project is aimed to realize the “Perfect City†concept in the park of Amata (Vietnam) under the ideas of Amata Corporation of Thailand, the partner of Amata Vietnam, he said at the ceremony organized to mark the company’s 15 years in operation.
Under the concept, the company wants to build industrial cities, each consisting of an industrial park closely linked to an urban area in its vicinity. “Only by this can we maintain the harmony between the industrial development and the living environment equipped with shopping center and all related services,†he said.
At the ceremony, Vikrom Kromadit, CEO of Amata Corporation Public Company Ltd., said that by developing this commercial complex, “we will have a new city quarter where infrastructure, utilities, facilities, amenities and living environment in high quality standards will be fully provided.â€Â
“With the development of Amata Commercial Complex, we will complete the development of an industrial city, comprising mainly an industrial estate and a commercial complex. As the industrial development progresses, we will move to the high tech industries,†he said.
Besdies, Amata Corporation also has initiated a much bigger project in Long Thanh District of the province to build a high tech city. “We hope to receive the land area for the development of a new high tech industrial park in junction with a modern service city from Dong Nai People’s Committee in the coming timeâ€Â, he said.
Kromadit said the Thai company wanted to bring in new international partners who will together with Amata turn this swamped area into one of the most advanced technological cities in the world.
Amata (Vietnam) was established in December 1994, with the Thai partner holding a 70% stake worth US$12 million and Vietnam’s Corporation for the Development of Industrial Zones (Sonadezi) contributing the balance.
So far, Amata Vietnam has leased out more than 220 hectares, equivalent to 70% of the industrial land area, to about 110 investors from 19 countries and territories, with the investment capital of about US$1.5 billion, Phien said.
