Airport project expected to receive 100m passengers/year

Prime Minister has approved the Long Thanh international airport projection covering 5,000 hectares in the southern province of Dong Nai. It is expected to receive 100 million passengers and five million tons of cargo a year, according to the VnExpress.
The project includes a 4F airport (in line with international standards). Construction will be started from 2015.

As planned, the Long Thanh international airport will function as transit area in the southeastern Asia region, receiving A380-800 aircrafts or equivalent jets.

The project is broken into 3 phases: from 2015 to 2020, 2020-2030 and after 2030.

The airport includes international and domestic stations. By 2020, the stations are capable of receiving 25 million passengers a year; 50 million passengers by 2030 and 100 million passengers after 2030.
