Agribank leads local lender in bad debts, 5.68% at end-June

Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), the country’s largest state-owned bank, recorded a non-performing loans (NPLs) rate of 5.68% of its total outstanding loans as of June 30.

In details, Agribank had VND23.95 trillion non- performing loans out of the total VND VND419.44 trillion outstanding loans as at June 30, local financial website Ndhmoney reported September 12.

The state-owned lender led local banks in terms of bad debts, and much higher than the second one in the list, Vietcombank’s 3.47% bad debts, and the banking system’s 3.04%.

Agribank had a charter capital of VND20.71 trillion as of February, 2011, and it had total dong deposits of VND435.85 trillion as of end-June. – Stoxplus.com
