Advanced survey ship sets out to sea

Song Thu Company, part of the General Department of National Defence Industry, has begun operating the hydrographic survey vessel (HSV) -6613, the first of its kind in Viet Nam.

The technologically advanced, 66.3m by 13.2m vessel was designed by the Damen Group from the Netherlands and built under the supervision of the UK’s Lloyd Register Group.

It is capable of operating in shallow waters and strong winds and can sail at an average speed of 10 knots and function for 60 days straight at sea.
