Abundant of about 2m tonnes of cement

Nguyen Tran Nam, deputy minister of construction affirmed in the document sent to ministry of industry and trade relating to balancing the supply and demands and proposing solutions for cement market stabilisation in 2010 that in the end of 2009, the domestic cement producers may meet all the market demands and in 2010, there may be about two million tonnes of cement supply higher than the consumption demands at that time.

Ministry of Construction has predicted that the 2010 total demands may reach about 50-51 million tonnes, in which Vietnam Cement Industry Corp contributes about 18.5 million, nearly 15.5 million tonnes from joint venture cement producers and the rest 17.5 million tonnes from the local cement plants.

Ministry of Construction forecasts that there might be no changes in cement industry in 2010. As for the surplus of 2 million tonnes in the market, the ministry has issued documents to Vietnam Cement Industry Corp, and other cement producers to carry out searching for export markets in order to maintain the stability in cement production sector.
