A Vuong hydroelectric power plant inaugurated
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on July 10 attended an inauguration ceremony of the 210MW capacity A Vuong hydroelectric power plant.
This is the first major hydroelectric power project in Quang Nam province which is planned to supply 815 million KWh of electricity per year to improve its socio-economic development, and help cope with droughts and prevent floods.
On the same day, PM Dung issued an order to build the Thach My Cement Plant with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per year in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, PM Dung emphasised that the plant will become a driving force in the economy of Quang Nam province, particularly in Nam Giang. He urged the chief investor – the Xuan Thanh group – to ensure the process and quality of the project as well as labour safety and environmental protection. He also asked the Xuan Thanh group to devise a market development strategy to find outlets for its products.
