A Fair That Helps Increase Domestic Sales

Binh Duong Province Industry and Trade Department’s Trade Promotion and Economic Information Center, the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA) and the U&I Investment Corporation together held a wood, fine-art and handicraft product fair from December 25-27, 2009 at the Vhome Supermarket in Dong Hoa commune in Binh Duong province’s Di An district.

A Fair That Helps Increase Domestic Sales

Fifty leading wood, fine-art and handicraft businesses from Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces introduced products/services, including different kinds of indoor and outdoor furniture in addition to rattan, bamboo, ceramic and pottery products, at almost 200 fair-based pavilions.
Foreign and domestic businesses, which are investors of urban area, apartment building, restaurant and hotel development projects, were honored visitors to the fair. The fair also attracted other 50,000 visitors.
BIFA President Vo Truong Thanh said that the fair is an opportunity for businesses to learn about the market’s demand, based on which to make a plan for forming big supply chains.
Binh Duong Province Industry and Trade Department representative said that wood, fine-art and handicraft businesses can learn about opportunities to increase sales in the domestic market through this fair.
The fair was designed for developing the domestic market, and it was held along with a movement that encourages Vietnamese to buy and use Vietnamese products.
HAWA Deputy Chairman Huynh Van Hanh said that the fair made it possible for wood, fine-art and handicraft producers to meet, exchange information and together find ways to better satisfy customers through providing the market with high quality, reasonable-price products.
U&I Investment Corporation officially opened its Vhome furniture supermarket while the fair took place.
HAWA, BIFA and Dong Nai Province Handicraft and Wood Industry Association said that despite the global financial crisis and economic downturn, the wood, fine-art and handicraft industry keeps growing well, and that this is a good condition for businesses in the field to launch trade promotions while assuring supplies of high quality, reasonable price products.
