60 billion VND to support software firms
The government has agreed to inject some 60 billion VND (roughly 3.18 million USD) into a three-year project to support the development of software businesses.
The funding will be distributed through the Ministry of Information and Communications to help software enterprises develop and apply the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) to their production.
The project, starting from 2010, will assist target enterprises in training workers on software production, provide consultation and support to the businesses regarding the application of standard. Businesses will also receive financial aid in getting the CMMI certificate.
CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organisations with essential element of effective processes that ultimately improve the performance along the standards set by the US Institute of Software Technology.
