200 firms to join city’s largest manufacturing exhibition

More than 200 local and foreign enterprises in manufacturing industry will showcase their latest products at an international exhibition in Hanoi from May 18-21.

Nguyen Khac Luan, Director of the National Trade Fair and Advertising Co. told a press briefing in Hanoi on May 10 that this would be one of the largest manufacturing industry exhibitions held in Hanoi after Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organisation.

The 6th Manufacturing Hanoi 2010 exhibition will have 320 stands, displaying the modernest products in three areas – machine tool and automation, plastic-rubber, packaging and food processing, and wood processing and decorating industries.

The event, Luan added, is expected to attract not only local businesses but also foreign investors and international groups.

The fair would bring access to modern technology of advanced countries to local firms and create a basis for technology and science exchanges between them and foreign partners, Luan said.
