17.161tr dong invested in infrastructure construction on Lach Huyen Seaport
The Ministry of Transport has lately submitted Document No 4265/BGTVT-KHDT to the government for seeking approval for some adjustment in the infrastructure investment and construction project of Lach Huyen Seaport, the international border gate seaport in Hai Phong. In details, the investment cost for Part A of the project of 17.161 trillion dong, was to be funded by the State Budget. After being put into operation, the sea port will be able to receive the 50,000 dwt and 100,000 dwt carriers, instead of 30,000 dwt and 50,000 dwt as designed initially.
At present, Japanese parties committed to fund about 14.677 trillion dong for carrying out construction works on Part A.
Part B of Lach Huyen Seaport, including construction works on the main seaport, will have estimated investment capital of about three trillion dong. The investors planned to realise this part under PPP method, with the participation of Vietnamese and Japanese firms.
