$120m to build Vietnam’s first soda factory

Chu Lai Soda Production Joint Stock Co and People’s Committee of the central province of Quang Nam on April 30 officially started work on building Vietnam’s first soda factory in Chu Lai open economic zone, Nui Thanh Dist in Quang Nam province.

The $120 million factory on a site of 20 hectares once in operational will create jobs for 200 locals.

The factory has an estimated capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year.

Currently, Vietnam has to import some 500,000 tonnes of soda per year.
