“Best of The Year” 2010 witnesses the victory of big brands
Big brands have dominated the “Best of The Year” 2010 ranking which has been released by the Vietnam Economic Forum (VEF).
“The ‘Best of the Year’ titles have been given to deserving products and businesses,” commented Pham Chi Lan, a well-known economist in Vietnam.
While the VNR500 provides the list of the 500 biggest Vietnamese enterprises, and the V1000 provides the list of 1000 biggest tax payers, thus giving the assessments about the production and business performance of enterprises, the “Best of The Year” gives assessment about the quality of services and products based on the selections of consumers, who use the services and products domestically and abroad.
The “Best of The Year” is expected to become an important voice which helps create a professional annual assessment system for enterprises’ reference, so that thy can adjust the business plans and the plans to popularize their brands. The “Best of The Year” also can help encourage enterprises to make investment and transfer technologies, and market high quality new products and services, competitive on the domestic and international markets.
With such goals, in the months from January to April 2011, the Vietnam Economic Forum VEF launched a big scale campaign “The Best of The Year 2010” where the VEF collected the readers’ opinions about the quality of services and products in the seven main production and business sectors, including 1) consumer goods; 2) garment and fashion goods; 3) cars and motorbikes; 4) insurance, banking and securities; 5) information technology; 6) telecommunication and 7) aviation services.
VietNamNet’s readers have given comments and voted based on the criteria suggested by the organization board. Which products and services have the best quality? Which products or services can bring highest use efficiency? Which products and services have the most reasonable prices? Which enterprises have the best post-sale services?
The noteworthy thing in “Best of The Year 2010”, is that there is no discrimination between domestic and foreign enterprises in special fields like car and motorbike manufacturing, or information technology. All the services and products of foreign and domestic enterprises operational in Vietnam have been put into consideration for the “Best of The Year 2010”.
This can help prove that Vietnam is a fairly competitive and healthy market for both domestic and foreign enterprises. Vietnamese enterprises have the opportunities to “win the hearts” of domestic consumers, while foreign manufacturers will have the opportunities to exploit the Vietnamese potential market.
For every title, only one brand has been chosen to ensure that the “Best of the Year” titles can receive the highest numbers of votes.
Thousands of VietNamNet’s readers have voted for the “Best of The Year”. The reader’s opinions have also been appraised by famous economists Pham Chi Lan, Le Dang Doanh, Dinh Trong Thang and Vu Dang Vinh, who were the members of the program’s jury board.
