Poland boosts trade with Vietnam
(VOV) – A Polish trade official has affirmed the constant growth of bilateral trade between Poland and Vietnam.
Katarzyna Kaniewska, Director of the Poland Chamber of Commerce, was speaking at a seminar on ‘Vietnam-Poland trade exchange’ held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 20.
The seminar aimed to help leading Polish businesses survey markets and seek cooperation partners.
The Polish business delegation included companies in production and processing of food, pharmaceutical products and herbal medicine, canned food and confectionery, cosmetics, machinery and industrial equipment.
Nguyen The Hung, a representative of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that bilateral trade between Vietnam and Poland reached US$346 million in 2010.
Vietnam mainly exports to Poland seafood, farm produce, textiles and garments, leather shoes, and imports from Poland medicine, dairy products and machinery.
Poland is now investing in eight projects in Vietnam with a total capitalization of US$100 million.
However, this is still far from meeting the two countries’ potential.
