WTO General Director Hails Vietnam Integration
General Director of the World Trade Organization Pascal Lamy regarded Vietnam as a model of successful reform and integration.
Pascal Lamy made his compliment at a meeting with Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang on Nov. 30, who led the Vietnamese delegation to the three-day WTO Ministerial Meeting in Geneva to be ended Dec.2.
The organization is pleased to work with Vietnam, said Pascal Lamy, pledging that it will continue assisting Vietnam in post-WTO.
The general director also applauded Vietnam’s economic and trade achievements in recent years.
Minister Hoang affirmed Vietnam’s determination to realize its commitments to the WTO and create a stable economic and trade environment to attract more foreign investors.
He also supported the ending of the Doha round slated for 2010 with balanced results that fully represent the interests of developing countries.
