Work starts on Krong No 2&3 power plants

The Ho Chi Minh City-based Trung Nam Group recently kicked off construction on two hydropower plants, Krong No 2 and 3, in Da Tong commune, Dam Rong district, Lam Dong province.

The 46-MW hydropower plants, costing VND1,150 billion (US$62 million) will supply around 170 million kWh of electricity for the national grid a year. The project covers Krong No commune of Lak district, Dung Kno commune of Lac Duong district, and Da Tong commune of Dam Rong district. This is one of a series of energy projects developed by Trung Nam Group.

The group was also the developer of the 70-MW Dong Nai 2 hydropower plant in Di Linh district, Lam Dong province. This facility, kicked off on May 28, 2010 with investment capital of VND2 trillion, is expected to begin generation in the first quarter of 2012. – VCCI
