Work starts on chemical plant

Linh Thanh Group started the construction of a high-quality calcium carbonate nano powder production and exploitation plant on Monday in Tuyen Hoa District in the central province of Quang Binh.

The project has a total investment capital of US$56 million, $23 million of which will be used for the first phase.

This is the first time Viet Nam has applied high-quality calcium carbonate production technology using limestone following the modern technology line of Ferlax, Italy.

Calcium carbonate is used in sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic chemicals and plastic. At present, the country imports more than 75,000 tonnes of calcium carbonate every year.
