Work starts on Asia’s largest wood processing plant

MDF VRG DONGWHA Joint Stock Company broke the ground of a 120 million USD fibreboard processing plant in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on July 13.

The plant, the largest of its kind in Asia , is expected to churn out 1,000 cu.m of medium-density fibreboard (MDF) a day.

President of MDF VRG DONGWHA JSC Le Minh Chau said the plant is expected to start operation in the first quarter of 2012.

The plant will use wood materials supplied by Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh and Dak Nong provinces. Its products will be exported, thus helping promote Binh Phuoc province’s modernisation and industrialisation process.

VRG DONGWHA is a joint venture between the Republic of Korea ’s DONGWHA group, Asia ’s biggest wooden fibreboard manufacturer, and the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group.
