VTC Telecom service license revoked

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) has revoked the licence granted to VTC Telecom in October 2005 to supply telecom services. Their licence has been invalid since February 26.

The ministry took back the licence because VTC Telecom violated the Ordinance on Post and Telecommunications: over two years since it obtained the licence, the firm has not yet implemented operations noted by the licence.

It is said that the licence was revoked because VTC Telecom didn’t offered the Internet service though it got the licence for it.

VTC Telecom offered no reasons for the delay. If the company wants to get the licence back, it will have to make necessary changes beforehand.

VTC Telecom is a joint stock company, with nearly 50 percent of its share held by the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). Its major fields of business is manufacturing, assembling, telecom, electronic equipment, installing and maintaining telecom, electric and electronic works, and producing smart cards.
