Vinacomin proposes to increase coal price for electricity production
With the current forex rate situation and highly increasing input costs, the coal price for electricity production is now equal to only 60 percent of the coal price for export, according to Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industries Group (Vinacomin).
Vinacomin has recently proposed the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) to submit for the government’s approval on adjusting the coal price for electricity production according to suitable mechanism, the local newswire Tien Phong reported on May 16.
By earlier of March, Vinacomin raised the coal price for electricity production by 5 percent as permitted by ministries of finance and industry and trade. However, with the current forex rate situation and highly increasing input costs, the coal price for electricity production is now equal to only 60 percent of the coal price for export. – Vietbiz24
