Viettel Wins Best World Communication Award

Viettel Corporation has won the Best Operator in a Developing Market award at the World Communication Awards 2009 recently held in London, the UK. This is the impressive and biggest-ever international award granted to Viettel as well as the Vietnamese telecom industry.

Viettel Wins Best World Communication Award

Viettel is presently operating the largest telecom network in Vietnam with more than 20,000 base transceiver stations (BTS), accounting for nearly 50 % of BTSs in the nation. The telecom firm is serving 37 million subscribers, or over 40 % of the market share served by eight network operators in the country.

Currently, Viettel’s capacity can serve more than 60 million subscribers. Viettel is now offering the lowest service tariff in Vietnam. The corporation has also expanded its operations into Laos and Cambodia and are the leading suppliers in these markets.
