Vietsovpetro symbolizes VN-Russia friendship

The Vietnam-Russia Oil and Gas Joint Venture, Vietsovpetro, stands as a shining symbol of effective economic cooperation and durable friendship between Vietnam and Russia, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong said.

“Vietsovpetro has become a leading enterprise laying the foundation for the development of Vietnam’s petroleum industry and it currently is a key force of this industry,” the NA Chairman commented during his visit to the JV in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on April 24.

He attributed immense achievements the Vietnamese Party and people have recorded in the renovation and development course to sizeable and effective assistance offered by the Russian people among other friends.

“Russian oil experts are not only friends but also teachers to Vietnamese staff working in the oil and gas industry,” Trong emphasized.

The NA Chairman said he hoped the experience accumulated during the time working under Russian experts’ guidance will enable Vietsovpetro’s staff to well master cutting-edge technologies applied in the field.

He said he expected Vietsovpetro will expand its international partnership to further raise the effectiveness of its operation for the sake of the national industrialization and modernization.

Briefing the NA Chairman on his company’s operation over the past 30 years, Vietsovpetro Director General Nguyen Huu Tuyen said his company will work harder to soon put newly-found oilfields into production and speed up exploration and exploitation on the country’s continental shelf.

Besides, the JV will expand its exploration and exploitation overseas to bring more profits to the nation and improve life of its staff as well, Tuyen said.

During the visit, NA Chairman Trong and his entourage visited the oil and gas port, and the staff of technology platform No.2 of the Oil and Gas Exploration Enterprise, which provides services for the offshore Bach Ho (White Tiger) oilfield.
