Vietnam’s mechanical industry imports $10-18b per year

Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI) held the conference of “Vietnam Mechanical Industry Development Process in 2000-2009 achievements and disadvantages” on May 5 in Hanoi. In the conference, the participants also proposed suggestions and solutions for the period of 2010-2020.

The purposes of organising this conference were to comment and evaluate about the achievements and disadvantages of Vietnam’s mechanical industry for the past 10 years so as to propose the suitable solutions for the government when working out the development strategies and policies not only in 2010 but also in the coming years.

According to VAMI’s statistic, Vietnam still has to import mechanical products worth $10-18 per year.
