Vietnamese businesses explore US market

A delegation of 17 entrepreneurs from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Tu Minh Thien, Director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), took part in the Asian-US Business Summit and Expo in Pomona city, California from January 13-16.

Mr. Thien said it was the first time Vietnam had attended the event to make the US and Asian business circles better aware of its business environment and products so that they can invest in the country more effectively.

He described the US market, particularly Southern California, as a huge market where many Vietnamese people are living, and looking for products from Asia, especially from Vietnam. He expressed his hope that Vietnamese businesses will find suppliers and distributors to bring Vietnamese goods to the US.

During two-day event, hundreds of thousands of consumers in California and its neighbouring areas visited the Vietnamese pavilion.

The Asian-US Business Summit and Expo is one of the biggest trade fairs held annually in the US, that involves many business delegations from Vietnam, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Mongolia.

On January 13-14, the Vietnamese delegation attended Asia-US Business Summit on the theme of “building bridges between Asia and the US to prosperity”.- VOV
