Vietnam, Singapore jointly assist businesses’ exports
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will join Alibaba.com of Singapore in assisting Vietnamese businesses’ export to Africa and APEC member countries.
The VCCI, Alibaba.com and the Investment and Technology Joint Stock Company OSB signed a cooperation agreement to this effect in Hanoi on Jan. 15.
The programme also aims to promote e-trade in the Vietnam business community.
It will select and assist 100 Vietnamese businesses to use e-trade tools on the world’s leading business-to-business website Alibaba.com to advertise their products, seek partners and sign export contracts. Additionally, it will organize e-trade training courses and seminars for these businesses.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Senior Manager of Alibaba.com business strategy development section David Tan said that at present the website has attracted more than 100,000 members in Vietnam, proving that Vietnam is an important market for Alibaba.com.
Also at the ceremony, representatives of the VCCI and the Information and Communications Departments of 10 cities and provinces signed cooperation agreements to promote the application of information technology and communications to help raise businesses’ competitiveness.
