Vietnam, Russia’s Parties Sign Cooperative Agreement
The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the United Russia (ER) Party signed a cooperative agreement in Moscow Nov 21 to boost the political consultancies and information exchange.
Signatories were ER Chairman Boris Gryzlov and Permanent Secretary of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Tan Sang who is visiting Russia Nov 18-23 to attend the ER’s 11th congress, the Communist Party of Vietnam said.
Under the signed accord, the two parties agreed to assist each other in personnel training and publication as well as organize bilateral, multilateral conferences, round-table seminars on Vietnam-Russia relations and international issues in common concern.
Earlier, the delegation of Vietnamese communists laid a wreath at a monument dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Square in Moscow and met with the Vietnamese embassy staff and representatives of Vietnamese communities in Russia.
Sang also held talks with St. Petersburg Mayor Valentina Matvienko to boost the two countries’ multifaceted strategic partnership in general and the cooperation between St. Petersburg and Vietnam’s cities in particular. (CPV, VNA)
