Vietnam Northern mountainous provinces to boost tourism cooperation

Vietnamese northern mountainous provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho will continue a plan to boost tourism among the three provinces next year, following good results gained from the 2010 project, state media said Tuesday.

The provinces will join hands in creating new tourism products while facilitating domestic travel agents’ tours to neighboring country of China.

In 2010, these three provinces’ plan has attracted the participation of 60 domestic travel agents, bringing in more than two million tourist turns and revenues of nearly VND1 trillion.

The provinces are now home to nearly 1,000 guest-houses, including 500 hotels and 260 restaurants.
