Vietnam Northern city bans 582 mineral exploiting areas

Authorities of Vietnam’s northern port city of Haiphong have announced they will ban mineral exploitation at 582 areas from now until 2020.

The banned areas include 375 national historical relics, 53 preventive forests and 102 security and defense areas.

The authorities also announced four area groups for exploring and tapping minerals during the period, including the first group with six mines for exploitation in three communes of Thuy Nguyen district and the second group with 57 limestone mines for exploration in the district.

The third group includes six sand areas for exploration and tapping in other districts and the fourth group for mineral exploration in Ruot Lon River and peat exploration in Kien Thuy district. – Dautu
