Vietnam-Myanmar new cooperation opportunities in IT businesses

The Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA) will together with the Myanmar Counsel General send a Vietnamese information technology business group to Myanmar to take part in business-matching with IT businesses in Myanmar. This is to boost business cooperation opportunities with Myanmar companies.

At this time, 77 Myanmar businesses import IT products, electronics, hardware equipment, service technology and comprehensive solutions. They are looking for partners who are HCA members.
The Myanmar Counsel General has sent an official letter to HCA, which is intended to boost the economic, trade and investment ties between Vietnam and Myanmar in the near future. The governments of the two countries have agreed to 12 areas of cooperation and investment including production and supply of electric/electronic/IT appliances.
It is expected that Myanmar will import US$800 million worth of machinery, equipment, spare parts and electric/electronic/IT products this year. The Vietnamese government encourages and supports investors in Myanmar. Vietnam Airlines has launched a non-stop route between Hanoi and Yangon-Myanmar to facilitate Vietnamese investors in Myanmar. The Vietnamese government also plans to set up an overseas investment fund to provide preferential credit for Vietnamese investors in foreign countries, firstly Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia./.
