Vietnam ministry yet approve VND9.5T tunnel project

The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has not yet approved a VND9.5 trillion ($497.38 million) project to build Ca Pass Tunnel in the central region, an official from the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam affirmed.

This means that tunnel construction can not be kicked off in October this year as announced by local media recently.

The ministry has just ratified the tunnel’s direction at a report submitted by the project investor Deo Ca Investment JS Company mid-July, while, other important factors such as scale and technical standards have not yet got its permission.

The 11.25-km Ca Pass Tunnel running through Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa province will be built under the forms of build-operate-transfer (BOT) and build-transfer (BT). (Investment)
