Vietnam may export 1.5m tonnes of cement in 2011

In 2011, Vietnam expects to export 1.5 million tonnes of cement, increasing 500,000 tonnes against 2010′s, according to the Vietnam Cement Association (VCA).

Also in 2011, the country will have more 12 cement plants with a total capacity of 10.18 million tonnes being put into operation. Thus, the country’s total cement production in 2011 would be 60 million tonnes.

Meanwhile, as forecasted, the demand of cement in 2011 would increase by 10 percent year-on-year to 55-56 million tonnes.

According to the association, the cement price in the domestic market continued to be stable at 900,000-one million dong per tonne in the north and it is 1.2-1.3 million dong per tonnes in the south. – TBKTVN
